Katharina Freitag

I received a BA in British and American studies as well as linguistics at Bielefeld University in 2010. Currently, I am enrolled in the MA program in American Studies at Leipzig University. After spending a year in North Carolina, the US South has been one of my major research interests. In this respect, I find the continuing relevance of and the fascination with the Civil War in the South particularly interesting. I also enjoy classes in African American and Latino literatures. After my graduate studies, I would like to work in the field of tourism marketing for the US, or in the field of cultural exchange.
