Rosi Smith

I am a teacher at a Nottingham Further Education college, working with disengaged 14-19 learners and adult returners improving their skills in literacy and numeracy. I am studying for an MA in English Literary Research (US American Literature) at Nottingham Trent University. My dissertation will centre on contained female identity in 1950s America. My Aspeers submission centres on the construction of these identities in Sylvia Plath's The Bell Jar. On completion of my MA I hope to continue on to PhD study, examining the comparative ideological discourses informing curricula for 14-19 learners in the USA and Cuba.
