After completing his Bachelors degree in English and Germanic and Slavic Studies with a minor in Music in 2013 at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, David R. Ewens moved to Germany to teach English at public schools in Halle (Saale) with a scholarship funded by the US State Department and the German-American Fulbright Commission. In 2014, he began teaching language practice at the Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg and he is still employed there. In 2015, he decided to pursue his MA in American Studies at the University of Leipzig and is thrilled to be a part of the dynamic and energetic editing team and the academically rigorous and rewarding experience that editing an academic journal entails.

David R. Ewens’s academic interests lie in 20th century literature of the American South and the political and social activism of the Civil Rights and Women’s Rights Movements of the 1960s and 1970s.
